Okay, I have long hair and I am going to cut it off. What are some good hair styles?

The reason why I am going to cut my hair is so that I can give it away and let it be made into a wig for a cancer patient. My mother being one this really hits close to home. my hair now is pretty long. but I am willing to cut most of it off. :)

please any options are open...

(well I don't want TOO too short. something that I can change it for special outings.)

I'd say get it cut no shorter than your chin, and maybe an inch or so longer if you have straight hair. That way you can wear it straight or with the ends curled under, or with part of it clipped back.

Keep in mind that if you have curly hair you'll want a lot more length to keep it looking nice, since it'll look a lot shorter than straight hair will. If you have thick or curly hair, don't go above your shoulder. That way it'll still fall right when it's curly, and it can be straightened or pulled back too.

awww thats dead sweet! i didnt know you could do things like that. erm, uniformed layers are totally gorgeous! i'd definately reccommend that and the best thing is... you can have it any length you want! it looks great straight, curled, in a pony tail, up...any way you like!!

i gave away a foot of my hair, and it was left a little longer than shoulder lenght, so depending on how long your hair is now, it should be around shoulder to chin, if its shoulder, give it a little layering, or maybe so it frames your face, and if its around your chin, you could bob your hair, or if thats not your style, you can go for that messy hair look
