2:blow dry/dry hair very good

3:comb hair straight down except in front

4:In front put to side

There's nothing to lose by growing it out a little and seeing if you like the look, but you do need to take care of it more than short hair (more brushing/combing and conditioning required as it grows longer). Nothing will make it grow faster but time, and as it grows out you'll need to see how it looks and get trims as needed to shape it into some style that you like. You can go to a hair cuttery and look through their hair style books and also ask the hair stylists what they suggest.
