Styles for natural extremely curly Afro hair? I do not want to relax or perm it. Please Help!!?

My hair is a type 4b curl. ( if you click this link and scroll down to the bottom two pictures, that is type 4b hair shown long and short. These pics are NOT me, but that's my type of hair! http://www.nappturality.com/modules/wfse... I have relaxed it and worn extensions for years and that has resulted in so much breakage and damage that I recently had to shave it down to about 1/4 inch all over. Now it's grown out to about an inch and I have no idea how to style it! I'm wearing it in a close crop afro (teeny weeny afro) for now but would like to venture out to twists or cornrows something similar. Any advice, products, or websites that can help me? Have you had a similar hair experience? Thanks for your time and answers.

have you checked motowngirl.com? I agree with the above poster, when my hair was that short i wore comb twists, and as they got old it looked like a highly textured TWA. If you want it to look curly you could try Curling Custard or Miss jessie's curly pudding. Also you could get a few cute hats. I like berets and beanies on bad hair days.

use paul mitchell foaming pomade... maybe around the hairline use shining pomade as this will help defrizz and control the hairline. add shine.

you can use gel to do ringlets...

cornrows are good but remember, that puts tension in your hair.

You could do some comb twists. They would look really cute! You can go to my salon website to get an idea of what they would look like if you'd like http://absolutstyle.tripod.com Just go to the "braids, twists and dreadlocs" page. There are 2 clients there and one of them has the short twists. Good luck and hang in there!!
