I have been letting my hair grow out from a pixie-short cut. I want to keep the back short and am letting the sides and top grow out to hopefully about chin length. Is there a name for that hair style? Any tips on getting it trimmed while I let it grow out into that style? I noticed this style seemed to be a popular one in London. (I live in the US-near Boston.)

It's called an Angled Bob. There is really no easy way to trim while it's growing out. The best way would be to keep trimming about an inch off of the length in the back until your layers in the back are long enough to form the bob, and just getting the dry ends off of the top and sides about every 4-6 weeks to keep them from splitting while they are growing. This is a very sassy style, and yes, I've seen a lot of it this year, too. I recently went to a hair show in Myrtle Beach, SC, and almost all of the cuts and style that were done were versions of this style. I've done lots of these cuts this summer.

I have/had it but I spiked my hair in the back, and I'm letting it grow out because I miss my long hair, well, I haven't cut my hair in about 5-6 months, and the lenght of my hair is still not even all around. So if your going to miss having even hair, go right along.
