What is a good, short haircut for thick and wavy hair?

My hair is naturally very thick and wavy; I'm a fan of the waves, and I prefer not to use a lot of product or spend a lot of time blow drying/styling my hair. I got my hair cut relatively short a few months ago - kind of a short, layered bob (a tad above the chin, a bit longer in front and lots of razor cut layers in the back). I've had it short before and really like it, but unfortunately it's more of a cut for straight hair. It looks pretty bad if I let it air dry or don't use any straightening products.

My hair has grown out since then and is starting to look a bit shaggy so I was thinking of going in to get it cleaned up. Does anyone know of a short, layered (since my hair is so thick, it looks huge if it's not layered) haircut that might work well with wavy hair?

I'd do a bob style cut. They are great I have the same kind of hair.

Good luck!

the style you got it cut in before sounds good, but you don't want to straighten it.

it kinda depends on how wavy your hair is for the cut.

If your hair is curly or wavy NOONE should be using a razor in your hair, its like this

straight hair is round when you look at it in a microscope

curly/wavy hair is flat

so when cut with a razor all it does is spliting the end and this is probably the reason for the looking pretty bad air dried. its just is going to make it frizzy

If i was your stylist I would keep your longest layer right at your shoulders and cut short layers all over creating lots of texture in the waves. it is a good idea to use a little product in your hair, just something light and to then let it air dry.

the only way i would every put a razor in your hair is if i was removing weight and that is done at the root so you never see the damage, just dont let anyone touch your ends with a razor :)

I have a lot of clients with your hairtype. What I usually recomend for this type of hair is a semi stacked haircut. The shorter the back of your hair the better. This cut tends to tame the underneath of your hair and prevents it from getting knotty and frizzy. And also, with the front being longer, it gives a little length to straighten out your curls in the front. Have your stylist cut it dry in the front and then wash it and cut the back dry with a razer. I think you'll be really pleased!
