I'm going to a black tie party tomorrow and I have a fantastic dress and shoes, however, I wanted to do something different with my hair. It is a slightly graduated bob that goes down to just under my jaw. I also have a few shorter layers. I can just get my hair into a pony tail, but I need quite a few clips and I don't think it would look too great at such a party! Has anyone got any ideas how I could use pins or something to have my hair up in an elegant and sexy style? Thanks!

You could try a bun much higher up than usual, but with a few pins I think one could pull it off.

People's heads seem to have a slight bump in them, not just a curve. Try to put the bun on top of that.

Another rather important question - what color is your hair? If your hair is light blonde or dark brown/black, then use what I said. If your hair is, say, a strayberry or honey blonde, then try the curls. Or leave it downb.

get braids.. dont wear clips...

I would recommend that you go to a hair salon and buy a fancy hair piece that attaches over your ponytail to give you that "Classy" updo red carpet look. Plus the great thing is all you have to do is put your hair in a ponytail and attach the hair piece! No curling and no frustration if you are having a bad hair day. Hope you find a solution that works. Have a great time at your party!

if you wanted your hair up, you could go for those jessica simpson clip in extensions. Or you could keep it down and curl it, or pull it half back with cute clips that would look nice with your dress.

I agree with Irishgirl - if you can get your hair in a ponytail (even if it's a short one) you can wear a clip on ponytail. I bought one for a Christmas party from
